Emerald cut, split shank

An emerald cut, held square in four double claws. The band splits as it climbs and lifts the stone clear of the finger. Beneath it the metal opens into a pierced scroll, so light comes up through the setting instead of stopping at the stone. The shoulders are engraved by hand and edged in milgrain, one bead at a time. This is slow work. It shows up close, and it holds up. Cast in sterling silver, set with a lab-grown emerald, ruby, sapphire, or moissanite. You're in charge of the stone.
